ROS 45th Annual Show Display Takes Blue Ribbon

Another Show year has come to an end for us. The number of ribbons and trophies won are still being calculated but I can tell you this much, our Display Committee took a Blue Ribbon for the above Display. All in all it has been a banner year for our members. Special kudos go out to Keith Emig, our Show Chair. It was no easy task for him, holding down his full time job, mounting a show for the Society and setting up a display and vendor booth at the Show. He has earned himself some well deserved time off.
All the apprehension surrounding the new venue for the most part was founded. It was not the ideal location, it was hot, at times unbearably so, the lighting wasn't the best and because of a mix up with the City of Lakeland we were forced to put in more hours than we had planned on. With all that said, it was a wonderful show and everyone seemed to have a very good time.
The AOS judges had their hands full, with well over 300 plants entered for ribbon judging, then more than a dozen or so plants pulled for AOS judging. They wound up awarding 4 plants, An Am, a HCC, a JC and a CCM which made for a busy Saturday afternoon for Jim Clarkson who served as our Official Photographer.
